Clayton “Truman” Keller age 85 passed away Friday, October 4, 2019 at Oak Grove Health Care in Rutherfordton, NC.

A native of Rutherford County, Truman was retired from the U.S. Army and was very active in the senior citizens groups of Rutherford and Cleveland Counties.

He is survived by one sister, Bonnie Beheler and her husband Grady Cannon; one sister-in-law, Lillian Keller; nephew Ricky Keller and wife Vicki and their children Tara and Justin; nephew Michael Beheler and wife Amy and their children Jarisa, Ashley, and Morgan.

He was preceded in death by his parents Jack and Pearl Collins Keller as well as one brother, T. J. Keller.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM Monday, October 7, 2019 at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bruce Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Military Honors will be provided by The Rutherford County Veterans Honor Guard.

Mr. Keller will be laid to rest in the Western North Carolina Veteran’s Cemetery in Black Mountain, NC.

Mrs. Sarah Betty Butler, 81, of Ellenboro, died Saturday, October 5, 2019.
Sarah was the widow of Glenn Butler, who died on the same date in 2018. She was the daughter of the late Lee and Eliza Ledford Lail. She was also preceded in death by 3 brothers, Herbert Lail, Robert Lail, and David Lail. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Beth Limerick of Ellenboro; her son, Steven Byars of Abu Dhabi; her sisters, Edna Hensley of Shelby, Raye Bridges of Cliffside, and Mary Lail of Boiling Springs, NC; 2 brothers, Bill Lail of Shelby and Max Lail of Lawndale; there are 4 grandchildren, Amy Hirsch and husband Matt, Aaron Limerick, Hiro Byars and wife Kaitlyn, and Kazu Byars; and a great grandchild, Leo Byars.
No services will be held.

Bruce Eubanks, age 76, of Mt. Pleasant Church Road, Forest City, NC, died Saturday, October 5, 2019 at Emerald Ridge Rehabilitation and Care Center in Asheville.

     Bruce was born August 24, 1943 in Rutherford County. He worked in textiles most of his life and was of the Missionary Methodist faith. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy Hall and Josie Harris Hall and a brother, Ronnie Hall.

    Those left to honor his memory include his loving wife of fifty-six years, Norma Kay Eubanks; three daughters, Melisa Carroll (Ronnie), Dawn Dodson and Joy Krietemeyer all of Forest City; two brothers, Roger Hall (Karen) of Bostic and Butch Hall of Forest City; three sisters, Joan Lavender of Ellenboro, Jean Van Dyke of Forest City and Nancy Conner (Mike) of Forest City; two brother-in-laws, Herbert Toms (Ann) and Ronnie Campbell (Marilyn) all of Forest City.  He is also survived by three grandchildren, Tyler Pennington, Kendra Henson (Hunter), Kensley Rash (Tyler) and one great-granddaughter, Addalyn Rash; a long-time special friend, Gary Johnson (Peggy) and special friends, Ray Holland, Doug Ledbetter and Donnie Crain.

    The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 8,2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Danny McCain, Reverend Leon Brown and Reverend Roger Hall and officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.

On October 3rd, 2019, Jodi Leanne Nelon, age 26, of 158 Yelton Street, Spindale, NC, went to be with the Lord. Left behind to cherish her memory are her five precious children, four daughters, Alina Nelon, Akira Jackson, Amiya Jackson and Avah Nelon; and one son, Kingston Jackson. Jodi is also survived by her father, Mark Nelon; mother,Flora Armachain Nelon; two sisters, Jessica Nelon and Heather Nelon; grandmother, Jackie Upton; three nephews, one niece, numerous aunts and uncles, cousins and extended family who will miss her presence.

Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, October 10, 2019 at Full Gospel Revival Church, 4799 US Hwy 64/74A Rutherfordton, NC with Rev. Paul Nelon and Rev. Tommy Hutchins officiating. Walter Herman Prince of Spindale passed away on October 6, 2019.  Mr. Prince was born on February 8, 1929 to the late Clarence Lancaster and Maggie Hollifield Prince.  He was also preceded in death by his brothers Charles WM Prince, Clarence Edward Prince and Woodrow Prince, a sister Ruby Prince Duckett and a son Michael H. Prince.

  He is survived by his wife Callie Arrowood Cuthbertson Prince; daughter Darlene Rouse and husband David of Albany, GA; stepsons James Cuthbertson and wife Shelia of Rutherfordton, Gary Cuthbertson of Rutherfordton and Jacob Cuthbertson of Rutherfordton;step daughters Diana Cuthbertson of Rutherfordton, Donette Benudiz and husband Carlos of Fernandina Beach Fl, Betty Joe Murray and husband Joey of Anderson, SC. Mr. Prince is also survived by six grandsons, six granddaughters, and seven great grandchildren.  Mr. Prince is also survived by his brothers Billy F. Prince and wife Helen of Rutherfordton, Jack T. Prince of Nebo, NC and Robert N. Prince and wife Cecila of Prineville, OR; a sister Mildred Prince Robinson of Campbellsville KY, eight nephews and one niece.  Herman was a member of Westminster Baptist Church. He loved his wife, family, and his work as a carpenter.
