Linda Faye Rumfelt Poore, age 75, of Cove Rd Union Mills, passed away Tuesday December 31, 2019 at her home. Linda was a native of Nash County, a retired clerical worker and a member of Montford Cove Baptist Church.
Her family includes her daughters Gwen Bernal of Union Mills and Nikki Chadwick of Monroe; her twin sister Betty Barbour of South Port, NC; her gentleman friend Earl Stott of Union Mills; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
A gathering of friends will be held Saturday January 4, 2020 from 1-3 PM at Crowe’s Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Linda’s memory be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills to help continue their awesome work.

Louise Searcy Lane, age 91, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Monday, December 30, 2019, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.
She was the daughter of the late Briscoe Searcy and the late Emma Arrowood Searcy and she was the widow of Hoyle Lane. Louise was a native of Rutherford County and a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. She was well known as “the cake lady”. In addition to her parents Louise was preceded in death by her sisters; Agnes Brooks and Nora Mae Laughter, and her brothers; Hubert Searcy, Herman Searcy, Harold Searcy, and Hicks Searcy.
She is survived by:
Diane Haynes and her husband Doug
Glenda Searcy and Ruth Searcy
Chad Haynes and his girlfriend Yvette
Louise was also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at 3:00 PM, Thursday, January 2, 2020 with Reverend Randy Darley and Reverend Brent Frady officiating. Interment will be at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery following the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills: P.O. Winfred Hoyle Owens, age 87, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Sunday, December 29, 2019, at Hospice House of the Carolina Foothills.
He was the son of the late Reverend Robert Hoyle Owens and the late Eva Pittman Owens. Winfred was a native of Rutherford County and a member of West Memorial Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and he was also the chairman of Deacons. He served in the Navy for four years in Texas. In addition to his parents, Winfred was preceded in death by all three of his sisters: Betty Wiles, Bobbie Freeman and Peggy Joyce Owens.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years: Joyce White Owens.
One Daughter: Lisa Ann Owens
One Son: Steve Hoyle Owens and his wife Gina.
Three Grandchildren: Brandon Burgess, Josh Burgess and Alexia Owens
One Great-Grandchild: Raegan Burgess
The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at McMahan’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at McMahan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 12:00 PM, Wednesday, January 1, 2020 with Reverend Alan Beane and Reverend Mike Snelgrove officiating. Interment will be at Eternal Hills Memorial Park following the service with Military Honors provided by the Rutherford County Honor Guard.
