Mr. Samuel Kyle Bridges, 40, of Bostic, died Sunday, June 30, 2019 at his residence.

Mary Frances Rome Bradshaw, age 85, of Ellenboro, NC, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Wednesday, June 26, 2019 at the Oakland Living Center.

Mary was born January 16, 1934 in Rutherford County to the late Anderson Rome and Anna Sue Mashburn Rome. She was a dedicated homemaker and especially enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening and sewing. She was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church and faithfully attended Tri-City Baptist Church while she was in good health.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of fifty-nine years, Louie Bradshaw; three sisters, Maudie Rome, Minnie Hill and Fannie Mode and five brothers, Taylor Rome, Lee Rome, Claude Rome, Troy Rome, William Eugene Rome and daughter-in-law, Nancy Bradshaw.

Those left to treasure her memory include three sons, Dale Bradshaw and wife, Susan of Ellenboro, Alan Bradshaw of Rutherfordton and David Bradshaw and wife, Raquel of Cheraw, SC; six grandchildren, Aaron Bradshaw (Brittany), Andrew Bradshaw, Elise Harris (Guy), Logan Bradshaw, Lennox Bradshaw and Wesley Bradshaw.

The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 30, 2019 at Tri-City Baptist Church with Reverend James Hollandsworth and Reverend Mike Conner officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will be private in Oak Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will be gathered at 715 Pinehurst Road, Ellenboro, NC.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Tri-City Baptist Church, 910 Piney Ridge Road, Forest City, NC 28043.

The family wishes to thank Mike and Arlene Smith and the Staff of Oakland Living Center for their loving care and compassion given to Mary during her illness.

Dazel Defoy Morrow, age 89, passed away Friday June 28, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City, NC.

A native of Rutherford County Dazel worked for a number of years at Stonecutter Mills and retired from Broyhill Furniture after twenty years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and attended Bible Tabernacle Church of Ruth, NC. Dazel loved working in his garden and spending time with family and his “granddog”, Chloe.

He was preceded in death by his parents Grover and Katie Gordon Morrow, his wife Joyce Morrow, and one brother, Virgil Morrow.

Those left to cherish his memory include one son, Chester Morrow (Carolyn); one daughter, Teresa Hayes; one brother, Bill Morrow (Joyce); one sister, Mozelle Barner (Donald); four grandchildren, Sharon Gardin, Jennifer Watkins, Jason Morrow, Jeremy Hopper; ten great grandchildren, Kristin Gardin, Hannah Harris, Dylan Owens, Ethan Morrow, Katie Gardin, T.J. Watkins, Kadence Hopper, Justin Hopper, Antonia Watkins, Austin Hopper; one great great grandchild, Jensen Harris, as well as a number of other family members and friends

.Funeral services will be held 2 P.M. Wednesday, July 3, 2019 at Bible Tabernacle Church 207 US-64, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Rev. Joe Greene officiating. The burial will be in the Piney Knob Baptist Church Cemetery 1534 Piney Knob Church Road, Rutherfordton, NC 28139 with Military Honors provided by The Rutherford County Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 P.M. Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Crowe’s Mortuary, 118 College Ave. Rutherfordton, NC 28139. The family will also be gathering at the home of Chester and Carolyn Morrow.
Forest City – Mr. Joseph “Joey” Scoot McKinney age 55 passed away June 24, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
