On Weekend of March 20th, 2021, information was shared between Spartanburg County Narcotics Unit and Rutherford County Sheriff Office Narcotics Unit over Drug Trafficking Group operating through both Counties. South Carolina Highway Patrol seized approximately 6 Kilograms of Methamphetamine on this weekend and requested the assistance of Spartanburg County Sheriff Office. Spartanburg County Sheriff Office obtained information that approximately 6 Kilograms of Methamphetamine was seized while traveling to an address in Rutherford County. Rutherford County Sheriff Office Narcotics Unit was familiar not only with the address but occupants at this address as well. Rutherford County Sheriff Office Narcotics Unit had an on-going investigation into one particular occupant at that address Marcy Dawn Vickers.

On March 23rd, 2021, Rutherford County Sheriff Office obtained Search Warrant for the residence of Marcy Dawn Vickers. Vickers was identified during the course of this on-going investigation as moving multiple Kilograms of Methamphetamine through Rutherford County. After the search warrant was executed on March 23rd, 2021, by Rutherford County Sheriff Office Narcotics Unit and Criminal Apprehension Team seized approximately $37,751.00 in US Currency, 13.4 grams Methamphetamine, 5.5 grams Marijuana and several items of drug paraphernalia including packaging that is consistent with large scale trafficking.

This investigation is still on-going and other individuals are being investigated by Rutherford County Sheriff Office Narcotics Unit for involvement into Trafficking Methamphetamine through Rutherford County. Attached with this release is photo of Joseph Matthew McClure out of Travelers Rest, South Carolina that was caught with 6 Kilograms of Methamphetamine by South Carolina Highway Patrol.
