MARION — Assistant District Attorney David Denninger has left the employ of District 29A Attorney Ted Bell. Denninger was a familiar figure in the McDowell District Court after becoming Assistant District Attorney (ADA) under D.A. Ted Bell in January 2015. Denninger has accepted an ADA position in a neighboring county.

Denninger obtained his law degree in 2014 after service and deployment with the U.S. Army. He joins an experienced criminal lawyer group who have left DA Bell’s employ:

  • Garland F. Byers, Jr.
  • Michelle McEntyre
  • Roger McCalman
  • David Norris, Jr.

The duties of the elected district attorney are to manage the prosecutor’s office, investigate alleged crimes in cooperation with law enforcement, and file criminal charges or bring evidence before the Grand Jury.
