On February 14, 2021, deputies with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1310 Ferry Road Lot 2 Mooresboro reference to a shooting.

When deputies arrived on scene they found Christopher Fite, 31, at the intersection of Ferry Road and Goode’s Creek Church Road sitting in a truck. Fite was suffering from a gunshot wound to his arm. Fite was transported to Cleveland Regional Medical Center where he was kept overnight.

Fite had went to the residence at 1310 Ferry Road Lot 2 to talk to an individual when an altercation started  between Zackary Waters, 20, and Fite, with Fite being shot by Waters.

Detectives with the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office responded and conducted an investigation.
At this time no charges have been filed and the investigation is still ongoing.

At the conclusion of the investigation, detectives will consult with the Rutherford County District Attorney’s office for any possible charges.
