It’s been a very busy week running all over the county and more, but the good news is that we made some fine eating choices to suggest.
Ok, for those who didn’t recognize me in my new short hairstyle, I got the best haircut I’ve ever had from my friend and Unique Hairstyles beauty parlor owner Barbara Johnson. She’s great~
Also stopped into Barley’s in Spindale to meet with two friends. The chicken and dumplings with a slice of fresh italian sausage pizza was awesome.
With out-of-state visitors this past weekend, we explored a number of restaurant options. Of course we stopped at the Thai Restaurant in downtown Rutherfordton. We were able to order the degree of spiciness we wanted in our delicious fresh dishes. Lucky me, I got the leftovers.
We then followed up with Scoops Ice Cream. Friendly service, outdoor seating, extra large servings of great ice cream with lots of napkins. They may have converted me to being an ice cream fan.
Thanks, All who were a part of our fun!
Was I the last to know that Scoops added Forest City to their original Lake Lure location and the one in Rutherfordton?
Then we ventured over the line to South Carolina’s Peach Basket for some peaches and boiled peanuts. The good farmers there had a laugh with my Yankee friends’ reactions to hot boiled peanuts. Everyone was a good sport. The cashier there was extraordinarily nice and when my phone battery went dead she used hers to get my directions and wrote it down step-by-step. Now that’s Southern Hospitality!
Well . . .
We locals do tourism too.
