Lighting The Way: Luminaries will be placed on the historic court square in uptown Shelby as a fundraiser for Hospice Cleveland County. Limit one name per bag. Cherryville Christmas parade: 10:30 a.m. Main Street, Mulberry Street and First Street. Floats, bands, clowns, dancers and Santa Claus. The parade assembles on East Main Street beginning at Depot Street and parts of First Street into Nixon Gym parking area. The parade will officially begin at the intersection of Depot Street and East Main, where it will run through Main Street until turning right onto Mulberry Street then proceeding to making a right onto First Street and will end at the intersection of First Street and Cherry Street.
A Dickens Tale: 6-7 p.m. Mauney Memorial Library, 100 S. Piedmont Ave., Kings Mountain. Presented by Bright Star Theatre. A Christmas Carol performance.
Choirs on the Square: 6 p.m. Choirs from Central United Methodist Church bring their musical talent to the steps of the Earl Scruggs Center, 103 S. Lafayette St., Shelby, to perform Christmas music. Listen to multiple voice and bell ensembles perform.
New Years Shooters: Festivities begin at 11:45 p.m. at 116 S. Mountain St., Cherryville (in front of city hall) and at Black’s Grill, 1915 Lincolnton Highway, Cherryville. Goes throughout the night and into the next day. Event ends at 6 p.m. Jan. 1, 2020.
