Associate Degree Nursing students pinned during special ceremony

SPINDALE (May 8, 2019) – Fifty-six Foothills Nursing Consortium nursing students were awarded their pins at a special ceremony today.

The Pinning Ceremony, held at The Foundation Performing Arts and Conference Center at Isothermal Community College, is the traditional graduation event for the students in the Associate Degree Nursing program. The consortium is a joint effort between Isothermal, Cleveland Community College and McDowell Technical Community College.

The graduates of the 2019 class are Jessica LaKellia Caldwell, Breianna Sommer Cobb, Elizabeth Raye Coffey, Eva Bourquardez Corum, Latoya Yvette Davis, Michael Anthony DeAntonio, Misti Loftis Dellinger, Bethany Kathleen Diegelman, Kortney Patricia Fish, Amanda Diane Gasche, Niki Gibson, Hannah Victoria Goode, Lisa Michele Harrien, Chelsea Elise Hastings, Taylor Brooke Hayden, Shonce Mon Hayden, Jessica Brooke Hernandez, Misty Rockell Jackson, Paulina Jarillo, Baylee Elizabeth Jenkins, Vicaria Jimenez Garcia, Sumer Michele Kale, Courtney Nicole Keaton, Brandi Nicole Killian, Kristine Kreiner Krause, Brittany Elizabeth Lackey, Jamie Ann Lathrop, Haley Renee Laughter, Leah Summer Lineberry, Christial Dawn Luckadoo, Kelly Marie McClain, Jennifer Duckworth Meadows, Brianna Nacole Metcalf, Morgan Faith Metheny, Melissa Galloway Morgan, William Randolph Mott, Victoria Danielle Niederer, Thea Leann Patterson, Taylor Rae Kayla Phillips, Erica Danielle Pool, Millie Nicole Rogers, Scott Ian Rogers, Juliet Renee Shelton, Jamin Charles Sigmon, Kimberly Iris Silva, Anna Scott Smith, Hanna Ricky Smith, Brentlee Ingle Teseniar, Stephanie Ann Turner, Margie Maria Twitty, Leigh Ann Vickers, Stacy Leigh Walden, Kemp Franklin Weathers, Melony Mae Whitener, Georgia BrennaJenae Wilkerson and Sheng Yang.

After marching in to the processional, the new nurses heard an invocation by classmates Stacy Walden and Victoria Niederer. Dr. Penny Cross, vice president of McDowell Technical Community College, welcomed the audience. Graduates Leah Lineberry and Chelsea Hastings made remarks to the class.

Judy Melton, dean of Health Sciences at McDowell Tech, introduced the speaker, Alecia Dorn, who is a retired faculty member of the Foothills Nursing Consortium.

Dr. John Lattimore, dean of Business and Allied Health at CCC, presented the nursing awards. Then, Dr. Kim Amos, FNC director, conducted the pinnings and lit the Nightingale lamps with the assistance of instructor Marian Price and Ava Yamouti, Isothermal’s dean of Health and Public Services.

The ceremony closed with music by instructor Norma Mott and a benediction by class member Kemp Weathers.
