Angel King, a professional educator with 30+ years experience, has filed to be a candidate for a seat on the Rutherford County Board of Education. She will be seeking to fill the District 1 seat on the board. King attended the the Basil Whitener Breakfast last week where Republicans, Democrats, and Independents meet with a non-partisan focus over breakfast to discuss the issues facing the County.

Having found King well spoken and well-versed on the issues of education, RC Catalyst requested a short bio so that the community could meet her as well.

I am excited to be a candidate vying for a seat on the Rutherford County Board of Education in the upcoming March 3 primary election. More than 30 years ago, I chose a career in education in an effort to positively influence and make a difference in children’s lives. I have striven to provide excellent educational opportunities to the thousands of students in my care throughout my meaningful career. With my broad range of experiences as a teacher, principal, and district director with Rutherford County Schools, I am well-qualified to continue to positively impact the lives of Rutherford County children.

I have a genuine interest in the success of our schools and want to ensure that the district continues to move forward in preparing students for college and career readiness. It is essential to keep students at the forefront of all decisions. The experiences and skills I have gained in my diverse career will allow me to bring a unique perspective to the Rutherford County Board of Education.

I am an educator at heart. I believe that I am the right person, at the right time, to serve our students, teachers, and community in the coming years.

Since there is not a Democratic opponent in the November General Election, the Republican Primary Election will determine who will serve the next four year term on the Rutherford County Board of Education. I would be honored to have your vote in this important primary election on March 3, 2020. Please vote Angel King for Board of Education District 1 .

Thank you Mrs. Angel King for your willingness to serve the community.
