Pinnacle Elementary’s 5th grade recently took their annual trip to Washington, D.C.
Each year, the 5th grade class visits museums, Ford’s Theatre, Arlington National Cemetery, the National Zoo and the Capitol. This trip allows students to see the capitol of their country and to make real connections with pieces of history they have studied.
PES teacher Ashley Lovelace stated, “Students are usually awestruck by the amount of graves at Arlington as well as the formality of the Changing of the Guard Ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Solder. ”
This year 81 students and chaperones took part in the trip.
