Jettie Loucynthia Carroll Crook, 88, of Rutherfordton, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2019 at White Oak Manor. A native of Polk County, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Cora Mae Fowler Carroll. Jettie was a retired textile inspector, avid gardener and a member of Crestview Baptist Church. Jettie volunteered at Rutherford Regional Medical Center, White Oak Manor, Meals on Wheels, and many other organizations. Jettie also worked at Belk for several years. Jettie was a loving mother, grandmother, and sister who took great pride in her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Jane C. Lail of Forest City, Connie C. Summer and husband Garry of Shelby; sister Iva Jane Wall of Forest City; sisters in law, Angelina Carroll of Mocksville, NC and Lucy Carroll of Forest City; grandchildren, Joshua (Deana) Lail of Rutherfordton, Marcus (Susan) Lail of Bostic, Nicholas Crook of Charlotte and Lara (Josh) Wrightson of Anderson, SC; great-grandchildren, Bryson Lail, Makayla Lail, Caleb Wood, Gracelyn Lail, and Katharine Wrightson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Raymond L. Crook; son, David L. Crook, US Navy; brothers, Grady Carroll, Marvin Carroll and Howard (Bill) Carroll.
Funeral services will be held 3PM Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Crowe’s Chapel with Rev. Kevin Rohm officiating. Burial will be private. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Crowe’s Mortuary.

Mr. George Cash, 74, of Bostic, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Hospice of The Carolina Foothills, Landrum, SC. He has moved on to fish with the Lord.
He was born September 22, 1944 in Cleveland County, and was a son of the late Dugar and Evylan Cash. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sons, Charles and Allen Cash, and an infant daughter, Sheila Cash. George was a member of Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church and was retired from the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Department. After his retirement, he devoted his time to working and taking care of others. The joy of his life was spending time with his family and friends and going fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Sonya Franklin Cash; a son, Wyatt Lance Slage; 3 daughters, Jennifer Taylor, Angela Buff, and Natasha Clark; he assisted in raising Renea and CJ; he has many grandchildren that he loved and adored; there are 5 brothers, Calvin Cash of Shelby, Carl Cash and wife Mary, of Winston-Salem, John Cash and wife Clara, of Honea Path, SC, Guy Cash and wife Wanda of Forest City, and David Cash and wife Sandra, of Foley, AL; and many nieces and nephews.
The Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 pm Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Robertson Creek Free Will Baptist Church. The Rev. Allen Terry, Rev. Ted Blankenship, and Rev. Colby Davis will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The Visitation will be from 1 pm until 2:45 pm Saturday at the church prior to the service.

Jerry A. “Moose” Campfield, age 79, of Tanners Grove Road, Forest City, NC, died Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Jerry was born November 2, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late L.B. Campfield and Helen Grant Campfield. He was a graduate of Tri-High School, class of 1958 and worked for Burlington Industries for many years. Jerry was a member of Harris First Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of forty-nine years, Jane Harris Campfield.
Those left to cherish his memory include two sons, Barry Alvin Campfield (Emily) of Forest City and Jerry Brannon Campfield of Rutherfordton; brother, Joe Dean Campfield of Chesnee; six grandchildren, Shelby Cooper (Austin), Tiffany Campfield, Gage Campfield, Brannon Campfield, Dylan Campfield, Paige Campfield; six great-grandchildren, Carter Jane Cooper, Oliver Cooper, Maddox Gage Campfield and Paislyn Mae Williams.
Mr. Campfield requested that no formal services be conducted.
