Mr. William Lawrence Haynes went to his heavenly home February 15, 2019 at Seacoast Medical Center in Little River, SC. He was born in Rutherford County August 1, 1930 he was the son of the late Rev. Ralph Haynes, Sr. and Lovie Arrowood Haynes. He worked in electrical maintenance at Bethlehem Steel until his retirement and was of the Baptist faith.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Rachel Bridges Haynes of the home. In addition to his wife he is survived by one brother; Ralph Haynes Jr. and wife Shirley, a sister-in-law Dottie Haynes and also blessed with several nieces and nephews and a number of special friends.

Mr. Haynes in addition to his parents was preceded in death by a daughter Kathy Jean Haynes, a brother; Paul G. Haynes, two sisters; Ruth Haynes, and Patsy Haynes Schiedt and a nephew Charles Haynes.

Funeral Service will be held 1 p.m. February 20, 2019 at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside’s chapel, officiated by the Dr. Dean Sisk with final resting place at Cleveland Memorial Park, Boiling Springs, North Carolina following the service.

Lynda Faye Huskey, age 71, of Forest City, NC, died Saturday, February 16, 2019 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. 

Lynda was born September 7, 1947 in Rutherford County to the late Howard William Hawkins and Lolamae Pitchford Hawkins. She worked as a waitress for various local restaurants and was a manager at Pizza Hut for several years.

Lynda had a wonderful personality and loved her pet dog “Baby”. She was of the Baptist faith. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Howard Ray Frawley. 

Those left to cherish her memory include one son, Robert Scott (Paula) of Ellenboro; two sisters, Brenda Davis (Ray) of Bostic and Wanda Jane Rector of Ellenboro. She is also survived by granddaughter, Amanda Nicole Shumpert and three great-grandchildren, Payton, Mason and Jaxon. 

No formal services will be conducted.

Mooresboro- Johnnie Marshall Beaver, 84 died peacefully the evening of Monday, February 18, 2019 at Hospice of Cleveland County. He was born October 29, 1934 to the late Noah Beaver and Altie Cambell Beaver.

Besides his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Virginia Mayes Beaver, one brother Lyman Beaver and one sister Margie Mayes.

Left to cherish his memories are three brothers Eugene Beaver and wife Nita, Tommy Beaver and wife Loreen and Larry Beaver, two sisters Elizabeth Bailey and Ruth Williams. He will be greatly missed by numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews but left us with many precious memories.

Family and friends of Mr. Marshall are invited to the visitation at 9 a.m. Friday, February 22, 2019 at Prospect Baptist Church 2610 Prospect Church Rd., Mooresboro, NC 28114. His funeral service will be 10 a.m. following the visitation with Pastor Buddy Morehead officiating the service.

A service of committal will be at Prospect Baptist Church cemetery following the service.

Arrangements are entrusted to Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside.

Bostic- Rose Gettys Spurlin, 81, died peacefully the evening of Monday, February 18, 2019 at Hospice House in Forest City. She was born April 10, 1937 to the late Embry Gettys and Rosie Stockton Gettys.

Besides her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Ned Lyton Spurlin and one sister Marjorie Gettys.

Others left to celebrate her life include on son Michael Spurlin and wife Donna, one daughter Debra Spurlin Mitchell and husband Tony, two brothers Frank Gettys and Gerald Gettys. She will also be missed by her grandchildren Ryan Spurlin and wife Kaley, Rebecca Tuttle and husband Clint, Jessica Cook and husband Stephen and Victoria Nanney; great-grandchildren Liam, Levi, and Alexis Rose Cook, Kayla and Sam Tuttle.

Our mother was a woman of faith. She shared her love for God with everyone she met. Our family fondly remembers all she did for us. She will be greatly missed, but left us with many precious memories.

Family and friends of Mrs. Spurlin are cordially invited to her visitation at Eggers Funeral Home of Cliffside February 20, 2019 from 6-8pm. Her funeral service will be Thursday at Spindale Fellowship Holiness Church 301 Deviney St, Spindale, NC 28160 at 3pm with Rev. Leon Brown and Rev. Henry Montgomery officiating the service. A service of committal will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park Cemetery in Boiling Springs, NC.

The family is asking in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills PO Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.

Rocky Lane Bailey, age 66, of South Church Street, Forest City, died Monday, February 18, 2019 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.      Rocky was born August 21, 1952 in Spartanburg County and was the son of the late Eber Alexander Bailey and Ellarie Mills Bailey. He worked for Harrill & Harrill Decoration Manufacturing and A & E Plastics for many years. Rocky was of the Baptist Faith.     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Michael, Leon and Steve Bailey.      Those left to cherish his memory include one daughter, Stephanie Bailey (fiancé, Josh Yelton); son, Teddy Lee Shelton (Jessica) of Burnsville, NC; brother, Thomas Bailey (Jan) of Chesapeake, VA; sister-in-law, Melissa Gilbert Hudson of Union Mills. He is also survived by four grandsons, Brandon Shelton, Tyler Shelton, Travis Shelton and Austin Shahan.      A memorial service will be conducted at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Michael Harrill officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.      Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

Annie Laura Euten Childers, age 63, of Forest City passed away Tuesday at Rutherford Regional Medical Center after a long illness. Annie was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late John Henry and Lucille Head Euten.

Left to cherish her memory is her companion Charles Lane; sister Melinda Hamrick and brothers Bobby and Freddie Euten.

Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Crowe’s Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bufford Brown officiating. The family will receive friend from 1-2 PM Thursday prior to the service.
