BLOUNT Co., TN — A 3.0 magnitude earthquake
happened around 4 a.m. in eastern Tennessee.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported the quake Monday in Alcoa.
Alcoa is located south of Knoxville, near the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.
The USGS reports the earthquake was recorded at a depth of about 8 miles or 12.7 kilometers.
