O.G. “Buck” Buchanan age 97 went home to be with The Lord on Friday, December 28, 2018. A native of Virginia, Buck was a retired evangelist and was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War Two and was awarded a Bronze Star for his service.
He is survived by one son Randolph Buchanan, three stepdaughters Molly Greenlee Emerson, Michelle Greenlee, and Mary Anne Greenlee Blanton, a number of grandchildren; two sisters, Mary Lowdermilk and Martha Sharp; two brothers, Brady Buchanan and Elmer Buchanan. He is also survived by a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Buck was preceded in death by his wife Mary Ellen Wingo Greenlee Buchanan, parents John Vassas Buchanan and Emma Elizabeth McCoy Buchanan, one sister Nancy Mae Correll Hughes and three brothers J.V. Buchanan, Riley Buchanan and Samuel Buchanan.
The family will conduct a celebration of life beginning at 3 P.M. Sunday, December 30, 2018 in The Crestview Baptist Church Fellowship Hall 630 South Church Street, Forest City, NC 28043. _________________________________________________________
Rusty Greenway, age 62, of Ellenboro, died Thursday, December 27, 2018.
He was the son of the late Frank Greenway and the late Louise Greenway. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sisters Sara Lovelace and Sandy Hill.
Rusty was a native of Rutherford County. He was a member of Haynes Memorial Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday, December 28, 2018 at McMahan’s Funeral Home & Cremation Services. The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at Calvary Baptist Church with Reverend John Godfrey and Reverend Bryan Hardin officiating. Interment will be at Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery, Rutherfordton.
