The Forest City Christmas Parade is scheduled to begin today at 3 p.m. The parade will start at the intersection of McNair Drive/West Main Street and travel along Main Street to Elizabeth Avenue.

Vehicles will not be allowed to park on Main Street along the eastbound parade route beginning at 3:30 am today.

Those traveling in the area should use caution due to a large amount of pedestrian/parade traffic. You should expect traffic delays while traveling near the downtown area during the parade and approximately 45 minutes prior to and after the parades completion. Vehicles will not be permitted to travel along the parade route approximately 15 minutes before the parade. The parade should last approximately 30 minutes.

Those traveling West through Forest City wishing to avoid the parade route and traffic congestion should utilize Riverside Drive to Old Caroleen Road to South Broadway Street and Oak Street. Those traveling East should utilize Westview Street to Hardin Road to Oak Street.
