James “Jim” Hawley, age 67, of Forest City, NC, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills in Forest City.
     Jim was born November 21, 1950 in Indianapolis, Indiana and was the son of the late James F. Hawley and Betty J. Toliver Hawley. He was a graduate of Lawrence Central High School in Indianapolis, class of 1969 and worked for United Southern Industries for twenty-five years. Jim was an avid Indianapolis Colts fan and a life-long student of History. He also enjoyed taking care of his pet cat, Furbie.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Jo Ann Powell.
     Those left to cherish his memories include his wife, Doris Burgess Hawley; daughter, Michelle White and husband, Ray of Bostic; two sisters, Sharon Hawley Bennett of Rutherfordton and Bonnie McMann Hower of Indianapolis; two grandchildren, Rayanna Bailey and Charles White; three great-grandchildren, Anna White, Bransyn Bailey and Izzy White. He is also survived by two nephews, Todd White Bennett and Joseph Russell Bennett; two nieces, Andrea Sue Bennett and Heather Bennett; five great-nieces, Hannah Beam, Victoria Bennett, Olivia Bennett, Jenna Bennett, Harper Bennett and a great-nephew, Blake Brower.
     A gathering of family and friends will be conducted from 11:00 a.m. until noon on Friday, November 16, 2018 with a Eulogy being provided by Mr. Todd Bennett. Interment will follow in Cool Springs Cemetery.
     Memorial donations are requested to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336, Forest City, NC  28043.

Ms. Louise Jones Rush, 87, of Golden Valley, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at her residence.
She was a daughter of the late Garrett H. Jones and Omie McCurry Jones, and was also preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Carpenter, her brother Roy Jones, her nephew Ricky Jones, and her brother-in-law Ronnie Carpenter, Sr.  Louise was a 1948 Graduate of Sunshine High School, and attended Charlotte Business School.  She worked at Stonecutter Mills for 5 years, and moved to Charlotte where she worked for Douglas Aircraft and Southern Bell. She moved to Gastonia and worked at Western Sizzlin’ for 15 years until her retirement in 1990.
She is survived by her sister, Dianne Hardin and her husband Ken, of Golden Valley; her sister-in-law Annie Lou Jones; her 3 nephews, Kenny and Judy Hardin, Shane and Donna Hardin, and Ronald Carpenter, Jr. and Janet; and her great nieces, Shannon Carpenter, Coley Carpenter, and Taylor Hardin.
The Funeral will be conducted at 3:00 pm Thursday, November 15, 2018 at First Broad Baptist Church. The Rev. Robert Bradley and Rev. Kevin Towery will officiate. Tracy Faucette will provide a Eulogy. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers are Kenny Hardin, Shane Hardin, Ronald Carpenter, Jr., James Sigmon, Shannon Jones, and Steve Brackett.
The Visitation will be from 2 pm until 3 pm Thursday in the church prior to the service.

Forest City – Mrs. Jean Camp Fisher went to her heavenly home Tuesday November 13, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was a retired hairdresser for over 50 years in Charlotte. She was the daughter of the late Claude Camp and Evie Robbins Camp. She was a member of Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by three daughters; Ann H. Gibson and husband Rovie of Forest City, Kay H. Walters and husband Mike of Waxhaw, NC, and Barbara Triplett of Lenoir, NC, four brothers: Donald Ray Fisher, Ron Butler, Boyce Camp and Bobby Camp, six sisters; Diane Vanhoy, Phyllis King, Joyce ,Linda Foster, Betty Henson and Linda Parker, multiple grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Mrs. Fisher was raised by Louvera Camp from the time she was two years old after her mother’s death. She was also a very special mother figure to Tami Carder. A very special devoted niece Linda Camp Stewart.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her first husband James T. Holcomb, second husband Ralph D. Fisher and third husband James Butler, one son; Larry Fisher, two brothers; Howard Camp and Harold Camp, one sister; Ruthe Westbrooks .

Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday November 16, 2018 at Floyd’s Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Carnell and Rev. Shane Kirby officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM prior to the service at the church. Final resting place will follow at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery, Forest City, NC.

The family has requested donations be made to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, Forest City, NC or the Floyd’s Creek Mission Trip Fund.

Paul Robert Ziegler, age 84, of Union Mills, NC, died Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at Willow Ridge Rehabilitation & Living Center in Rutherfordton, NC.

He was the son of the late Robert Ziegler and the late Catherine Godshall. Paul was born in Philadelphia, PA and lived in Haddon Heights, New Jersey for many years.

Paul was a member of Collingswood Presbyterian Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Robert Ziegler and a sister Marie Constantine.

   Derrell Hutchins, age 48, of Emory Avenue, Forest City, NC, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
     Derrell was born December 1, 1969 in Rutherford County and was the son of Shirley Melton Hutchins of Forest City and the late Steve Hutchins. He was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1988 and worked for Zee Mark/Parker-Hannifin for several years. Derrell was a car and motorcycle enthusiast. He attended Cross Link Baptist Church and was known as a kindhearted and generous man.
      In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Julie Morrow; daughter, Adrienne Hollifield and husband, Blake of Manning, SC; sister, Dawn Haynes and husband, Billy of Forest City; grandson, Miles Hollifield; three nieces, Hannah, Riley and Kasey Haynes and father and mother in-law, Jerry and Janice Morrow of Forest City.


Betty J. Waters, age 81, of Mooresboro, NC, passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 at her residence.
     Betty was born November 10, 1937 in Rutherford County and was a daughter of the late Buford Henson and Ruby Hames Henson. She was a graduate of Harris High School, class of 1958 and worked at Sunshine Pre-School in Chesnee for twenty years. She was a member of Hicks Grove Baptist Church where she was a choir member and served in Vacation Bible School and Awanas. Betty loved taking pictures of her grandkids and crocheting. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
      In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby Joe Henson and Rondle Henson and a sister, Vickie McKinney.
     Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of fifty-eight years, Samuel Waters; two daughters, Lisa Starnes and husband, Timothy and Crystal Robbins all of Mooresboro; son, Jason Waters and wife, Jana of Mooresboro; sister, Barbara Gardner of Mooresboro and three brothers, Dewitt Henson and wife, Barbara of Chesnee, Gene Henson and Clyde Henson and wife, Shirley all of Mooresboro. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Amber Green (Dustin), Miranda Hudson (Chris), Taylor Waters, Tanner Waters and Ethan Gardner (Hannah); six great-grandchildren, C.J. Green, Dacie Green, Drayton Green, Daxton Green, Callie Hudson and Cora Hudson.


GASTONIA  – Joshua Charles Hibberts, 36, passed away at his residence on Saturday, November 3, 2018. He was born to Everett and the late, Jacylin Hibberts.
