County Commissioners’ Clerk surprised with Long Leaf Pine Award

Hazel Haynes has served Rutherford County as the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners for the past 36 years. She could retire but she continues working because she loves her job so much. Haynes was surprised at the commissioners meeting with the Order of the Long Leaf Pine Award.

“Since 1963, North Carolina’s governors have reserved their highest honor, The Order of the Long Leaf Pine award, for persons who have made significant contributions to the state and their communities through their exemplary service and exceptional accomplishments.”

The room was filled with friends, past commissioners, current commissioners, current and past co-workers, and more. Thank you for your service Hazel.
