November School Board Recognitions

November 2018 Board Meeting

At the November meeting of the Rutherford County Board of Education (BOE), several students across the district were recognized for state and national level achievement. BOE members whose terms expire this year were also recognized.

Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP)
Duke TIP identifies highly performing students in middle school and gives them the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT in seventh grade. Students performing at or above the 95th percentile are eligible for participation in Duke TIP. Based on ACT or SAT scores, students who participate in TIP can receive state and national level recognition and may be eligible for scholarship funds through the program. RCSNC recognized Duke TIP participants in the spring; however, one student was unable to participate in the regular administration of the ACT/SAT testing due to illness. Therefore, Kinsley King received recognition for her outstanding performance as a TIP participant at the November BOE meeting. Miss King is currently an 8th grader at Chase Middle School.
