EASLEY, S.C. – It’s one of only five in the country. Pickens County, S.C. has a state-funded tuition-free charter school dedicated to teaching children with dyslexia. Lakes and Bridges Charter School is operating in an Easley school.

The school has been open for just six weeks and most classes already have a wait list.

This project was created with a group of retired educators who saw a need for specialized education that didn’t cost parents anything extra. The plan is move into their own building on Main Street in Easley by next year.
