ATLANTA, GA — Coca-Cola’s marketing division is keeping a close watch on the sales trends of cannabidiol, or CBD. Business analysts take that to mean Coca-Cola is considering the potential sale of cannabis-infused drinks.
CBD is the non-psychoactive ingredient derived from marijuana. Globally CBD is gaining ground in wellness circles to possibly treat epilepsy, Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s, anxiety, depression, and other maladies. CBD may ease inflammation, provide antioxidants, and relieve pain.
Coke says it’s in talks with a Canadian cannabis company on potential products, but it hasn’t made any decisions about using it in Coke products.
