Colfax Free Fair

ELLENBORO —The 90th Colfax Free Fair should begin on Tuesday at 6 p.m. if Florence’s rains don’t delay ride erection. The free fair will be held on the grounds of the old Ellenboro school off Hollis Road. The grand opening ceremony will include live music and the official opening of the rides for children of all ages. The fair will continue through Saturday night, Sept. 22.

The exhibit hall will be promoting “Have Health and Wellness Be your Greatest Wealth.”  The exhibit hall is open during normal fair hours and the public can bring canned goods, potted plants, cut flowers, handicrafts, art and baked goods.

Rides open at 6 p.m. each day Tuesday-Thursday and at 5 p.m. on Friday.

Live music will be Friday and Saturday nights at 7 and 8 p.m. The bluegrass band Wiregrass will perform Friday night and “In His Glory” gospel quartet will be singing Saturday night.

The classic car and truck show will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Saturday. Car show trophies will be presented at 6 p.m. Saturday.

Proceeds from the fair will go to the Ellenboro School.
