Contest to design Isothermal’s official flag

SPINDALE –Isothermal Community College needs a design for its official flag and it wants your help.

The flag will fly next to the American and North Carolina flags on a new set of poles in front of the Administration Building.

The flagpoles are a project of the Isothermal Alumni Association, which has mounted a fundraising campaign to pay for the estimated $10,000 cost.

The design contest is open to Isothermal students and the public. The entries will be judged by a panel of Isothermal faculty and staff.

The winner will receive a $100 gift card to the Isothermal Bookstore.

The flags and flagpoles, including the winning design, will be dedicated in a special ceremony at the Veterans Day Concert at The Foundation Performing Arts and Conference Center on Saturday, Nov. 10.

Entries must be in an electronic format and emailed to with “Flag Contest” in the subject line.

Either pdf, jpg or eps file formats are acceptable. It is preferred that jpg entries be at least 300 dpi in resolution and that eps or Illustrator files be in vector format.

The proportion of the image is that of a standard flag – 2:3.
