RUTHERFORDTON — The trespassing case of David Wheeler, John Huddle and Wayne Guffey onto Word of Faith Fellowship (WoFF) was continued Friday morning. Judge C. Randy Pool, chief district court judge for the 29A Judicial District, had received notification from the Attorney General’s (AG) prosecutor asking for a continuance. The case will now be heard on Friday, Sept. 28, 2018.
Wheeler was charged with second degree trespassing on the premises of WoFF, along with John Huddle who left the church in 2008, and Wayne Guffey, a 30-year law enforcement veteran who was a candidate for Rutherford County Sheriff.
A 2nd degree trespassing conviction is punishable by up to 20 days in jail and a $200 fine.
The case is scheduled for Rutherford County District Court.
