Woman broke into father-in-law’s house multiple times and stole $14,000 worth of property

Lt. Andy Manis of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Kimberly Marie McCarter, 33, of 18 Buck Walk Ridge in Old Fort, with two counts each of breaking and entering and larceny.

Detective Nathan Mace of the Sheriff’s Office also charged McCarter with one count of breaking and entering.

J.C. McCarter, of Old U.S. 70 West in Old Fort, reported on Thursday, March 22 that someone broke into his residence on multiple occasions and stole $14,081.23 worth of property, including gold coins, jewelry, pocket knives, hand tools, clothing and a pistol.

J.C. eventually caught Kimberly, his daughter-in-law, inside the house during one of the break-ins.
