TJCA-CFA Students Excel at National Scholastic 3D Archery Tournament

BELKNAP, ILLINOIS — Thousands gathered in Belknap, Illinois, at the Mermet Lake State Fish and Wildlife Area for the sixth annual Scholastic 3-D Archery National Championship, which took place June 22-24. More than 900 elementary, middle, and high school students participated in the tournament representing 27 different states. College coaches attended the tournament scouting and recruiting.

​Thirteen ​students from Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy competed in the Elementary and Middle School divisions of the event. Elementary Team members were Lauren Allen, Wesley Allen, Sully Edwards, Ethan Greene, Jack Hamrick, Eli Lineberger, Brianna Mellon, and Greg Tice. The Middle School Team members were Landon Allen, Victor Diaz, Emma Lineberger, Manny Schlichtmann, and Keeley Thompson. Allen Lineberger and Tyson Edwards coach the TJCA Gryphon Archers.

Thomas Jefferson Classical Academy placed first as the Elementary Team National Champion. Sully Edwards placed first as the Boys Elementary Open National Champion. Emma Lineberger placed second in the Girls Middle School Open Class.
