Obituaries

Terry F. Allen, age 63, of Mill Spring, NC, died Wednesday, July 4, 2018, at his home.

He was the son of the late Willie Ted Allen and the late Mary Frances Green Allen. Terry was a native of Polk County. He was a member of First Baptist Church Rutherfordton and a former deacon. He loved the N.C. Tarheels, loved to hike and loved to spend time with his family.

Trabert Allen and fiancee Kristen Hatfield
Wells Allen and girlfriend Ashley Royle

Four nieces:
Darcy, Chloe and Mary Grace Compton, Natalie Acevedo

A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, July 8, 2018 at First Baptist Church Rutherfordton with reverend Tim Marsh and Reverend Dean Baughn officiating. The visitation will follow the memorial service in the fellowship hall.

Forest City – Abby Gail McMinn Ingle, age 52 passed away at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills on July 1st 2018.

Arrangements are entrusted to Robert Morgan Funeral and Cremation Service of Boiling Springs.


Arthur L. Dudycha, 77, died at his home on June 26, 2018 under the watchful care of Hospice. Art is survived by his sons, Jeffry of Columbia, SC and Stephen of Los Angeles CA, his sister Carol Peters of Findlay, OH, and by his wife Linda.

He was born in Ripon, Wisconsin in 1940, and earned his Ph.D. in Mathematical and Statistical Psychology from The Ohio State University in 1967. He was a Professor at Purdue University, The West Virginia College of Graduate Studies, and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside, where he also served as the Dean of the Business School.

Art enjoyed serving as a McNair Mentor for many years at East Rutherford High School, and was a member of the Rutherford County Woodworkers Club. He was a wildlife advocate and photographer, and was passionate about woodworking, travelling, camping, and canoeing.

Cremation services are being provided by Crowe’s Mortuary. A private celebration of his life will be held at a later time.

The family is an enthusiastic supporter of Hospice, and encourages the support of Hospice of the Carolina Foothills PO Box 336, Forest City, NC 28043 by others.

SHELBY – Donna Lorene Cripe Frier, 73, passed away at her residence on Saturday, June 23, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. She was born to the late Cleo Ray and Evelyn Stone Cripe in Indiana.
