Wreck results in meth trafficking charges

MARION —Lt. Chris Taylor of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Joanna Kaye Julius, 33, of 149 Thunderhill Drive in Marion, with two counts of trafficking in methamphetamine and one count each of possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine and possession of methamphetamine.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 20, Deputy Jesse Hicks of the Sheriff’s Office assisted N.C. Highway Patrol troopers at a wreck on Toms Creek Road.

Julius was found to be one of the occupants of the vehicle. A subsequent search of the suspect and the car turned up 42 grams of methamphetamine.

The case was turned over to Taylor. Additional arrests are pending.
