Lake Lure, NC – June 14, 2018. The Town of Lake Lure today announced that the Mayor and Town Council have accepted the resignation of Town Manager Ron Nalley, effectively immediately.
There will be a special Town Council Meeting on Monday, June 18th at 1 pm to discuss a transition plan. Since this deals with matters of personnel, Council will go into closed session. Following the meeting, there will be a staff briefing and additional updates for the public.
“What we want the citizens to know is that they have a capable and dedicated staff working on their behalf and that all projects, plans, and issues related to the day-to-day management of the Town are well in hand,” said Mayor Kevin Cooley. “We wish Mr. Nalley all the best in his future endeavors and thank him for his skills, professionalism, and his contributions to our town.”
In parting, Mr. Nalley said that he appreciates the hard work of the staff and the friendships made over the last two years.
Nalley joined the Town of Lake Lure in August 2016 from the Town of Montreat where he was the Town Administrator for twelve years.
He was among 127 applicants for the position of Lake Lure Town Manager.
