2 WoFF members pled guilty to wire fraud

RUTHERFORD COUNTY, N.C. — Two members of the controversial Word of Faith Fellowship church pled guilty to wire fraud charges in federal court Friday.

Jason and his father, Jerry Gross, entered the pleas Friday in federal court in Asheville were accused of taking more than $140,000 of unemployment benefits from the State of North Carolina from 2009 to 2013 when their employees were actually working.

The plea agreement states both men are required to pay restitution.

Authorities announced Friday that these arrests are part of a large investigation. Dr. Jerry Gross is cooperating with federal investigators.
