Wyatt Lee Ramsey,  infant son of Tyler and Morgan Bishop Ramsey of Bostic, died Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his paternal grandparents, Alvin and Lisa Ramsey of Bostic; his maternal grandparents, Melissa and Norris Young of Forest City, and Barney and Donna Bishop of Boiling Springs, SC; his maternal great grandmothers, Frankie Bishop of South Carolina, and Becky Champion of Polk County; and his paternal great grandparents, Don and Louise Tessnear of Bostic.
A Private Burial will be held at the Mt. Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.

Matthew Eric Greenway, age 40, of Rutherfordton, NC passed away surrounded by family and friends on March 7, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

He is survived by his very special friend Stacie Garrison of Lake Wylie, SC, his parents Brad and Melanie Greenway of Rutherfordton, NC, his sister Amanda Greenway and her husband Jesse Bender of Fairview, NC, his grandparents Thomas and Ruth Greenway of Green Creek, NC and many beloved uncles, aunts and cousins. Matthew especially loved his fur babies Catalina and Banjo. He was predeceased by his grandparents James A. Johnson and Ruby M. Johnson of Polk County, NC.

Matthew was employed by American Airlines at the Charlotte Douglas International Airport in Charlotte, NC. He considered his co-workers his second family and they were a constant source of strength and comfort during his life and his illness. He was also co-owner of G2 Soaps in Lake Wylie, SC. Matthew will be best remembered for his compassion and for his unfailing sense of humor.

A Memorial Service will be held in his honor on Monday March 12, 2018 at Spencer Baptist Church in Spindale, NC at 11:00 a.m. The family will receive friends after the service.

MILL SPRING – Doris Ann Jackson Hooper, age 78, of Mill Spring, NC passed away Saturday, February 24, 2018 at her residence. She is predeceased by her husband, Leonard Eugene (Gene) Hooper; son, Randy Waters; brother, Donald Griffin.Left to cherish her memories are her children, Larry Waters and wife Renea, Bobby Waters, and Delinda Anderson; grandchildren, Chris Waters and wife Nikki, Tonya Pence and husband Marty, Tiffany Grant and husband Curtis, Jamie Grainger, and Brandon Anderson; ten great grandchildren; siblings, Barbara Revels and late husband Earl, Dorothy Reid and husband Albert, Pat Pittman and husband James, James Griffin and wife Ann, Rick Giles and wife Kim, and sister-in-law, Shirley Griffin.

Doris was a faithful member of Grassy Knob Baptist Church for many years. She worked as a waitress most of her life. Doris enjoyed cooking, sewing, and gardening. She will be remembered for being thoughtful, helpful, laughing, and always having a kind word. She will forever be remembered and missed by all that loved her.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Grassy Knob Baptist Church, Grassy Knob Road, Rutherfordton, 28139.
