Barbara Ann Wilson Chambers, age 78, of Lake Lure, NC, passed away peacefully surrounded by her grandchildren and other family on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Pardee Memorial Hospital in Hendersonville, NC.

She was a native of Rutherford County and the daughter of the late Grover Arthur Wilson and the late Nannie Sue Earley Wilson. She was a member of Bills Creek Baptist Church and taught Sunday School there for many years. She was a caregiver for many people for many years and was very independent, strong willed and extremely caring. She is preceded in death by four brothers; Bud, Tom, G.A. and Keith Wilson and by one son Kevin Lynn Chambers.

Zachary Chambers, Taylor McDaniel, Brooke Chambers, Joel McDaniel III, Kayla Madison Chambers and Jacob River McDaniel

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Bills Creek Baptist Church in the sanctuary. The funeral service will be at Bill’s Creek Baptist Church at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 17, 2018 with Reverend Kenneth Hay officiating. Interment will be at Bill’s Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Lake Lure, NC. Memorials may be made to Hospice of The Carolina Foothills at P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.

Jason “J Bird” Price, age 40, of Rutherfordton, died Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center.

Born December 19, 1977 in Baltimore, Maryland, he is the son of Roger “Dale’ Price of Mooresboro and Patricia Alt of West Virginia. He was a mechanic all of his life and worked for Rocky’s Automotive in Forest City for many years and most recently for Cowan’s Automotive. In addition to working on cars, his life’s enjoyment was racing cars which included Go Kart Racing (car # 7), drag car dirt racing and four-wheeling. He was also a CB radio enthusiast with the handle of “J Bird”. Jason enjoyed fishing and was a member of Riverside Baptist Church.
Survivors include his step-mother, Linda Price of Mooresboro; wife, Cassandra Hill Price of Rutherfordton; two sons, Andy Raye and wife, Tiffany of Forest City and Jason “Little J” Price of Forest City; daughter, Charity Garcia and husband, Graciel of Forest City; sister, Roni Price and fiancé, Jim Bob Conner of Cliffside; three grandchildren, Cam Raye, Lilly Raye and Adam Camacho.

Danny “Caveman” Putnam, age 53, of Beaver Street, Forest City, died Friday, February 16, 2018.
Born February 22, 1964 in Rutherford County, he is the son of Margaret Putnam Green of Forest City and the late Samuel Woodrow Putnam, Jr.

Danny worked in textiles for many years and most recently for Broyhill Industries. He was an avid NASCAR fan and followed Kevin Harvick. He was also very gifted at drawing and a member of Goodes Creek Baptist Church.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Wade Green and one brother, Gary Wayne Putnam.
Besides his mother, he is survived by a daughter, Lindsey Putnam of Ellenboro; sister, Robin Powell and fiancé, Ed Cole of Sandy Mush and brother, Jackie Putnam and wife, Joy of Cliffside.
Funeral arrangements are pending and will be announced later.

 Ernest Webb, age 72, of Forest City, died Friday, February 2, 2018 at the Sunnyside Rest Home. 


      No formal services will be conducted.
