Hubert Bailey, age 90 passed away at his home on Sunday, February 11, 2018. A native of Rutherford County, he is the son of the late Robert Vance Bailey and Zula Price Bailey.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Mozelle Guffey Bailey, one son Douglas Grant Bailey, one daughter Diane Bailey Conner, brothers Russell, Norman, Lester and Rev. A.A. Bailey, sisters Ruth, Ethleen and Francis.

Hubert is a member of Adaville Baptist Church and retired from Isothermal Community College where he worked as a supervisor in the maintenance department.

He is survived by his wife Sue Davis Bailey of the home, one son Wayne Bailey of Rutherfordton, stepson Wayne Davis of the home, three stepdaughters – Louise Whitaker and husband Roy of Kings Mountain, Joy Armstrong and husband Chuck of Kings Mountain, Susan Whetstine and husband Ronnie of Shelby. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and a number of other family members and special friends Johnny and Barbara Brigman.

Funeral services will be held 3 P.M. Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Adaville Baptist Church with Rev. Johnathan Cobb and Dr. Jim Whitlow officiating. Interment will be in the Adaville Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Adaville Baptist Church Building Fund 805 Oakland Road, Spindale, NC 28160 or to Hospice of the Carolina Foothills, P.O. Box 336 Forest City, NC 28043.

Ana Bolin Wilson, age 58, of Forest City, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at the Testa Hospice House in Kings Mountain, NC.

Born November 10, 1959 in Cleveland County, she was a daughter to the late Norman Bolin and Dallie Ivey Bolin. Ana worked for Continental Alpha Industries for several years and most recently worked as the general manager of the Dollar General located in Boling Springs, NC. She was of the Baptist faith and her life’s enjoyment came from spending time with and playing games with her grandchildren whom she loved dearly.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dusty Wilson and brother, Scott Bolin.

Those left to cherish her memory include two daughters, Belinda Randolph (Brandon) of Forest City and Kristin Wilson (Travis Reep) also of Forest City; four sisters, Donna Oliver of Kings Mountain, Lynn Crotts of Shelby, Tonda Toney of Shelby and Tracy Mertz of Kings Mountain. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Aiden Wilson, Aubrey Reep, Axl Pulley, Vada Pulley, Emily Randolph, Elizabeth Randolph and Phoenix Randolph.

A gathering of friends and family in honor of Ana will be held from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Home.
Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.

Mrs. Denise Wood Poteat, 65, of Bostic, died Saturday, February 10, 2018 at her residence.

She was the daughter of Dorothy Wood of Forest City, and the late Eatheron Wood. Denise loved her Facebook friends, and was a member of Sunshine United Methodist Church, where she taught Sunday School for many years..

In addition to her mother, she is survived by her husband, George W. Poteat,Jr.; her son, Paul William Poteat of Charlotte; her 2 daughters in heart, Lisa Hamrick of Rutherfordton, and Pam Poteat of Forest City; her sister, Sharon Morgan of Icard; there are 3 grandchildren, Carson Killough, Bailey Killough, and Brice Hamrick; and one great grandchild, Payton Trotter.

No formal services are planned.
