Lawing charged with 3 counts of B & E and larceny

Detective Billie Brown of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged David Christopher Lawing, 30, of 20 Sally Knupp Way in Old Fort, with three counts each of breaking and entering and larceny and one count each of breaking and entering a motor vehicle and possession of burglary tools.

Lt. Andy Manis also charged Lawing with one count each of breaking and entering, larceny and possession of stolen goods.

Lawing was charged in connection with the following:
 A residential break-in at the home of Karen Styles, of Old Fort, on Nov. 5, where he stole change and keys worth $76.
 A residential break-in at the home of Raymond Allison, of Old Fort, on Nov. 17, where he stole jewelry, keys, lottery tickets and pocket knives with a total value of $1,850 and broke the window out of a Ford truck.
 A residential break-in at the home of Lottie Washburn, of Old Fort, on Sept. 11, where he took a $150 ring.
 A residential break-in at the home of Barbara Walker, of Old Fort, on Nov. 29, where he swiped $1,066 worth of jewelry, keys and cash.

Lawing was acquainted with all of the victims, either as a neighbor or a relative. Some of the property was recovered.
