Barbara Ann Powell, age 75, of Henrietta, died Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the First Health Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst, NC.
     Born December 15, 1942 in Rutherford County, she was a daughter of the late Otto Harris and Ellen Allred Harris. Barbara worked for Burlington Industries for almost forty years before retiring and was a member of Caroleen Baptist Church. She enjoyed reading and especially loved being with her family and having fun with them. She was a dedicated wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend.
      In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerry Morrow, her second husband, Melvin Hamrick and a third husband, Jimmy Powell. She was also preceded by one sister, Carol Cobb.
      Survivors include her daughter, Pam Ramsey (Charles) of Ellenboro; three sons, Perry Melton of Henrietta, Ken Melton (Teresa) of Yadkinville, NC and Jimmy Morrow (Carol) of Ellenboro; four grandchildren, Heather Radford (Travis) of Raeford, NC, Steven Adair (Cristi) of Cliffside, Jeremy Morrow and Jayme Bradshaw both of Forest City; four step-grandchildren, Christopher Ramsey (Alicia), Ashley Patton (Bruce), Chad Grant (Julia) and Chris Grant (Alicia). She is also survived by twenty-one great-grandchildren which include, Alec, Ason, Mackenzie, Katie, Kneuhmyuh, Ijayuh, Jazzy and Elyjuh.
      The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Carl Ramsey officiating. Interment will follow in Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.

 Timothy “Tim” Dwayne Holland, age 53, of Forest City, died Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Hospice House of Rutherford County.
     Born February 3, 1964 in Rutherford County, he was the son of the late C.M. Holland and Mary Jane Silver Hutchins. He retired from the Town of Spindale as a truck driver and was a member of Alexander United Methodist Church.
     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Elliott; and three brothers, Ken Holland, Monroe Holland and Jimmy Holland.
     Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 32 years, Chris Holland; two sons, Tommy Holland and Chase Holland; two sisters, Marion Hutchins, Denise Hutchins; and two brothers, Tony Holland and Ricky Hutchins.  He is also survived by one grandson, Hayden Holland; and numerous nieces and nephews. 
     The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Home.

Emily Byers age 74 passed away on January 11, 2018 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.  She was a native of Rutherford County.  Left to cherish her memory are her sons Timmy (Margaret) Roper of Marion NC, Michael (Debbie) Roper of Rutherfordton and Brian (Leah) Roper of Forest City.

She was preceded in death by a son Ronnie Roper.  The family will hold a private memorial service.  Crowe’s Mortuary is assisting the family of Emily Byers.
