Clara W. Wilson, age 84, of Forest City, died Thursday, January 4, 2018 at her residence.
     Born January 15, 1933 in Elizabethton, Tennessee, she was a daughter to the late Clifford Woods and Barty Perry.  She worked for Clarkins Department Store for over twenty years before retirement and was of the Baptist faith. Clara played a very active role in her family and loved each one dearly. She also served as a delegate and representative of the AFL-CIO.
     In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband of forty one years, Fred R. Wilson and a second husband, Edward Wolfy. She was also preceded by one son, Fred Wilson, Jr. and brother, Leonard Woods.
     Those left to cherish her memory include two sons, Dennis Wilson (Paula Carson) of Chicago, Illinois and Roger Wilson (Gail) of Forest City; two daughters, Gina Cochran (Jeff) and Pamela Frank (Terry) all of Canton, Ohio; two sisters, Francis Zelina and Patricia Holland (Bill). She is also survived by nine grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
    A gathering of remembrance will be held on a later date.

Ronnie Mode, Sr., age 54, of Forest City, died Monday, January 8, 2018 at Carolinas Healthcare System-Cleveland. Born October 11, 1963 in Rutherford County, he is the son of Ray Mode who resides in Forest City and the late Colleen Grant Mode. He worked as a truck driver for Latco Concrete Company for many years and attended the Caroleen Congregational Holiness Church. Ronnie enjoyed collecting antiques and going to flea markets, but most of all loved spending time with his family.

In addition to his father, he is survived by two sons, Ronnie Mode, Jr. and wife, Jessica of Mooresboro and Stephen Mode and wife, Heather of Ellenboro; his life companion, Brandy Mode and her daughter, Olivia Lowery of Forest City; two sisters, Arlene Taylor of Ellenboro and Sheila Bradley and husband, Dennis of Caroleen. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Jordan, Makinzie, Madison, Ashlyn, Hannah and Kelsey Mode.
The funeral service will be conducted at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Dwayne Scruggs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service time at the funeral home.
Burial will be private at the Shingle Hollow Congregational Holiness Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Dorothy Dobbins White, age 92 of Eastwood Village Dr., Bostic, died, January 9, 2018. Born in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Bate Dobbins and Ethel Harrill Dobbins and widow of the late John D. White who died in 1996. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Donnis Smart and Susie Digh.

Mrs. White was co-owner and financial chief officer of Forest City Pain & Supply Co. since 1957 when she and her husband founded the business. Along with many other accomplishments she was always involved in her church, Florence Baptist as Sunday School teacher, adult choir member as well as serving on numerous building committees.

Survivors include her children, daughter, Sharon W. Haulk and her husband Doug of Bostic, NC and son, Keith B. White and wife Barbara of Forest City, NC and a sister, Helen Dobbins Higdon of Gainesville, FL. Her grandchildren who fondly called her “Graw” include Ryan Haulk of Fletcher, Lauren Haill of Forest City, Brandon White of Roanoke, VA and Kathryn Waldo of Charlottesville, VA. Grandchildren include Lexie, Caroline, Emerson, Kaitlyn, Leyton and Audrey of whom she cherished.

Everyone was drawn to “Dot’s” outgoing and contagious personality and wit. She was loved by all who knew her. She will be greatly missed.

The funeral service will be held at two o’clock Friday, January 12, 2018 in the Florence Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Bobby Gantt officiating. Interment will follow in the Eternal Hills Memorial Park. Visitation will be in the church Narthex from 12:15 until 1:45 pm Friday prior to the service.

The family is at the home of her son, Keith White on McCall Drive, Forest City.
