Lois Faye McCombs Pritchard, 84, of Forest City, died Monday November 20, 2017 at Rutherford Regional Medical Center. A native of Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late Amzie and Mattie Ramsey McCombs. She was a home maker, greeter at Wal-Mart, and a member of Bethany Baptist Church.
Left to cherish her memory is her son, George Stanley Pritchard of Forest City; granddaughter Amber Pritchard Wilson of Seneca, SC; grandson Travis Pritchard of Forest City. In addition to her parents, she was preceded on death by her husband Forrest Logan Pritchard Sr. and son Forrest Logan Pritchard Jr.
Funeral services will be held 11AM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Crowe’s Mortuary with Rev. Ricky Poteat officiating. Interment will follow in Bethany Baptist Church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.
Crowe’s Mortuary is assisting the Pritchard family.
Robert Elliott, age 77, of Rutherfordton, died Sunday, November 19, 2017, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.
He was the son of the late Arnold Elliott and the late Olive Stock Elliott. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Marvin Elliott.
Robert was a member of Southern Baptist Church. He was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator where he was considered the best. Robert was Judy’s angel.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Southern Baptist Church. The funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at Southern Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck officiating. Interment will be at Southern Baptist Church Cemetery.

Elsie Ward Thrift, age 87, of Rutherfordton, NC, passed away Monday, November 20, 2017 at her residence.
Born February 17, 1930 in Lincoln County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Lee Ward and Lily Cosby Ward. Elsie worked at DAP manufacturing for many years. She was a member of Southern Baptist Church and enjoyed singing in the church choir. Elsie was also a hairdresser. She had a heart for the needs of others and was a caregiver to many.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-nine years, Ralph Dean Thrift; one son, Phillip Thrift; two sisters and three brothers.
Those left to cherish her memory include one daughter, Deborah Long and husband, John of Kannapolis, NC; two sons, Gary Dean Thrift and wife, Mary Patricia of Rutherfordton and Richard Wayne Thrift and wife, Cynthia of Bossier City, Louisiana. She is also survived by nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 22, 2017 at the Southern Baptist Church with Reverend Bob Philbeck and Reverend John Perry officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. A graveside service will be conducted at Meadowridge Memorial Park in Elkridge, Maryland on Friday, November 24, 2017.
