Hise amended campaign finance forms are still not public

FOREST CITY — The billboard is still up for state N.C. Senator Ralph Hise, and he still hasn’t made public his amended files.

Democracy North Carolina, a voting rights and campaign finance watchdog group, has rented billboards to draw attention to an ongoing investigation by the State Board of Elections into the campaign finances of state Sen. Ralph Hise. Hise,  a Mitchell County Republican and chair of the Senate Select Committee on Elections,  represents citizens in six counties in western North Carolina – including Rutherford County.

Hise has allegedly withdrawn about $10,000 in excess “loan repayments” from his campaign and also failed to disclose receiving more than $9,000 in donations from political action committees (PACs). His campaign reports have  missing information, discrepancies in funds received, and numerous occassions where money was paid out but the payee is not properly documented.
