Lloyd “Vance” Silver, Jr., age 66, of Walls Church Road, Ellenboro, passed away Friday, September 29, 2017 at the Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte.
Born January 6, 1951 in Mecklenburg County, he was a son to the late Lloyd V. Silver, Sr. and Anace Calhoun Silver. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of Cliffside Baptist Church. Vance worked many years as a supervisor for Duke Power until retirement and was a gun enthusiast. He will always be known as a wonderful and loving husband and the “Best Dad” ever!
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Kim Bright and a brother, James Silver.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of twenty-two years, Kathy Skipper Silver; daughter, Tia Silver Holtzclaw and husband, Billy of Florida; son, Jeff M. Silver and wife, Angie of Oregon and one sister, Joann McCurry of Sunshine and son-in-law, Scott Bright of Forest City. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Macey Bright, Dillon Bright, Leslie Siegfred, Abbie Silver, Allie Silver, Chloe Holtzclaw and Bella Holtzclaw.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at the Harrelson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Ernie Cole and Mr. Larry Skipper officiating. Entombment will follow in the Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery Mausoleum. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until 12:15 p.m. prior to the service time at the funeral home.
Harrelson Funeral and Cremation Services has been entrusted with arrangements.


Margie Bradley, mom, nanny bear left us to be with our lord on September 28th, 2017. Margie was loved not only by her children but by everyone who was blessed to have known her. Her heart and love had no bounds and her smile would light up a room. She always took care of those around her without a thought about herself. She was a shining example of what a mom should be and also a woman of the lord. Although physically she has left us she is looking down on us still looking out for us still loving us like she always did. Heaven has gained an angel, the most beautiful and caring. We love you and miss you so very much. Rwyn dy cari di mam.

Left to cherish her memories are her daughters, Wendy Bradley, Gina Day, and Patty Bradley; son, Tony Bradley; eight grandchildren; one great grandchild; brother, Wayne Lewis, as well as a number of other family members and friends.

Memorial services will be held 5PM Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Crowe’s Mortuary. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cleveland County Hospice, 953 Wendover Heights Drive, Shelby, NC 28150.

Annie Greene Wilkins, age 90, of Rutherfordton, NC, died Thursday, September 28, 2017, at Hospice House of Rutherford County.

 

She was the daughter of the late William Avery Greene and Uzelia Keeter Greene and a native of Rutherford County. Annie was a member of First Baptist Church of Rutherfordton . She was an active member of her church, civic organizations and community . She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Annie was preceded in death by her husband David Samuel Wilkins Jr. and two brothers; Bud Greene and Donald Greene.

Clyde David Wilkins and his wife Alesia of Rutherfordton

Four Grandchildren: Emily Wilkins, Erin Wilkins, Ben Wilkins and Merri Wilkins.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, Saturday, September 30, 2017 at McMahan’s Funeral Home. The Funeral service will be at McMahan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 1, 2017 with Reverend Tim Marsh, Reverend Dean Baughn and Reverend William Swink officiating. Interment will be at Gray’s Chapel UMC Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to First Baptist Church; P O Box 839; Rutherfordton NC 28139, Hospice of Carolina Foothills; P. O.
