FOREST CITY — Saturday’s electrical outage began at the mall area circuit of Forest City along Hwy 74. The outage may be due to complications as a result of yesterday’s outage. Some areas of Forest City are still experiencing a power outage as of 11 p.m. Repairs to the Beaver Street substation, which is responsible for supplying power to the Alexander Mills area, may take until 12:00 am. While the electric crew is diligently working to correct the problem, it may be midnight or later before power is restored to all areas.
There are two substations feeding electricity to the Town of Forest City. Due to yesterday’s outage, all of Forest City was switched to the Lawing Road substation. When energy demand peaked, it overloaded some of the circuits causing another outage.
All Town residents are asked to reduce electrical usage as much as possible. We apologize for the inconvenience and assure you, our electric crew is working as hard as they can to get it restored.
