“Fridays at the Falls” Guided Hikes

Description: Join us for a complimentary guided hike (with paid Park admission) out to the 404-foot Hickory Nut Falls, one of the tallest waterfalls of its kind east of the Mississippi River. While many recognize the falls from the movie The Last of the Mohicans, our trail guide will share with you lesser-known facts about the plant and animal found along the trail during summer, in addition to some interesting Park history. No signup is necessary; limited to 25 people. Meet a Park Naturalist for the hike in front of Cliff Dwellers Gifts at 11am.
“Saturdays on Four Seasons” Guided Hikes
Date/Time: Saturdays, September 8, 15 & 22; 1-2pm
Location: 431 Main St, Chimney Rock, NC – Chimney Rock at Chimney Rock State Park
Cost: No additional cost with paid Park admission.
Description: Join us for a complimentary guided hike (with paid Park admission) on the Four Seasons trail. Witness nature’s changing seasons on this 0.6-mile moderate-to-strenuous hike starts at the Meadows and climbs 400 feet of elevation to the top parking lot. Not recommended for children under 12. This trail winds through hardwood trees and past thickets of Carolina Rhododendron, mountain laurel, abundant wildflowers and indigenous plants. You may even spot deer and wild turkeys. No signup necessary; limited to 20 people. Meet our Naturalist for the hike near the climbing tower on the Meadows at 1pm.
