RUTHERFORD REGIONAL HEALTH FOUNDATION PLANS
FOR ANNUAL GOLF CLASSIC
(Rutherford Co.) The 26th Annual Rutherford Regional Health Foundation Golf Classic will be held
Thursday, Sept. 27, at Bald Mountain Golf Course at Rumbling Bald Resort at Lake Lure.
Shotgun starts will be held at 8 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Entry fees are $100 per person or $400 per group of four. The fee
includes food and beverages, one mulligan and entry into the hole-in-one for each team member, and longest putt and
closest to the pin contests for each golfer.
Morning teams will have breakfast beginning at 7 a.m.; lunch will be available beginning at 11 a.m. Door prizes will
be given away before lunch for morning players and before dinner for afternoon teams. Other contest prizes will be
awarded at the conclusion of morning and afternoon play. Tournament prizes will be awarded to the top three teams
in five flights for the entire tournament.
Funds raised from the tournament benefit the Foundation’s Touching Lives campaign. Annually funds from the
campaign provide for 75 Lifeline subscriptions for seniors, 188 mammograms for uninsured women, camps for nearly
100 children with asthma and diabetes and for Rutherford Regional’s cancer patient navigator program.
“This is Rutherford Regional Health Foundation’s largest fundraiser of the year,” said Jill Miracle, executive director
of the Foundation. “Our tournament continues to grow each year and we are grateful for more than 300 players,
sponsors and volunteers who make the event possible.
“September 27 will be the best day of the 2012 for us,” Miracle continued. “The tournament makes a difference in the
lives of hundreds of patients who receive quality care as a result of the funds generated that day.”
Only the first 32 teams with completed registration forms and entry fees for each start can be guaranteed. Team
entries and fees must be received by Sept. 17.
