If history repeats itself and as a grey haired elder I can attest to repeating history, then everything comes around. The future is easy to predict when we are aware of the past. In the age of transparency, mobile phones and cameras, and the instant publication on the internet, the consequences of one’s actions seem to be delivered faster.
By the way, I am opposed to news media getting their stories and fill fluff from Facebook. Get out in the community, know the people, and focus on what interests people. You don’t chase an audience; you create content that builds an audience.
An editorial is written by an editor according to oldtimers. An editorial board means that one has no clue what is happening and is relying on volunteers to bring them inside information. But then again, I remember Clark Kent when he worked on the Daily Planet.
There have been a list of organizations, a host of politicians, and a few activists who seek to change the pattern. What happened to the Committee of 100, RTR, the Master Plans, Roundtable and the latest to fall RC Centrist? There is no change if conversation, discussion and plan doesn’t convert to action.
It’s not always easy to do the right thing. Yet, the consequences always come around. Sometimes in days…sometimes in decades. A civil discussion is hard to come by. In many ways the current party line splits are a civil war. By the way, is any war civil?
Our county is hurting and there are no easy solutions to the issues we face. So far, there is no superhero changing outfits in the phone booth. Wait! There are no more phone booths. So here is my solution… Let’s build a phone booth!
